Catch Up Premium
The government have awarded a 'catch-up' premium to schools to support those who may have fallen behind.
Here at Royton Hall we agree that the most important skill our children need in order to access the curriculum is to be able to read well and understand what is being read.
To this end we have decided to use the funds to support our readers. We have therefore purchased:-
- an online reading programme called LEXIA. This is being implemented from Year 2 up to and including Year 5. It is also supporting some of our Year 6 pupils
- A greater selection and quantity of Phonics books for our younger children.
- Chrome books and headphones across the school.
- Licences to access the online reading programme for SEN support.
We will monitor the effect of this on pupils learning via our teacher assessment.
