Our Visit to Hoghton Tower
Today (21.3.22) we visited Hoghton Tower! It was built over 400 years ago and has been visited by many famous people such as the Duke of Edinburgh and King James I! We were guided around the tower by several amazing tour guides who told us lots of facts and interesting information about the Tower's history.
We pretended to be knighted in the famous banquet hall where King James I famously knighted a 'Loin Steak', hence the current term 'Sirloin steak'. We also looked at lots of old, intricate dolls houses which contained some amazing pieces of furniture and dolls. In the dolls houses room we played I-Spy, looking for Santa, a lady in the bath, the parrot in the cage and knight suits which took us some time, but we managed to spot them all!
