15.3.22 - Do Worms Make Plants Grow Faster?

Tuesday 15th March 2022

Following yesterday's discovery that we do have healthy soil at Royton Hall, we wanted to explore how plants benefit from the  worms working around them. We decided to investigate whether Worms make flowers grow faster than flowers that are not surrounded by worms.

To do this we became gardeners and worm gatherers. The gardeners potted two plants in separate pots, whilst the worm gatherers collected juicy, long worms.

We then potted a plant, adding worms to the compost and potted another plant with no worms added to the compost. We will observe over time whether the pot with the added worms grows faster than the other!
