Science

At Royton Hall Primary, we aim to promote a love of Science learning and encourage children to question the world around them. These questions are then investigated, recorded, discussed and conclusions are formed.

The children at Royton Hall are provided with a vast array of learning experiences connected to their Science topic. Teachers provide children with enriched, first hand learning experiences which allow them to develop a love for Science. Some of these experiences are further developed through use of the local environment such as Forest school, exploring the school grounds and school trips. They are also exposed to various life skills such as: Safety when handling certain materials, cooperative learning during investigations and debates with explanations as to their thinking.

We aim to stimulate and alight pupils’ curiosity about the world around them through an engaging, inclusive and practical, high-quality curriculum. Cross-curricular opportunities are sought wherever possible which helps children to embed their ‘sticky knowledge’. We want every child at Royton Hall to see themselves as a ‘Scientist’ and to never stop being amazed by the wonders that our world has to offer!
